The past few days i am in a slight busy stage finding a solution to the problem i have with one of my computer. I recently needed to be able to log-in to my old laptop to access old important data, but i can’t remember my password on any of each user. Even the administrator password. I wasn’t been able to do a password reset disk as well. So i went on consulted my best friend google for solution and immediately  found a lot of tool that i can use. To list some here are some of tools you can use to recover windows password.

Note: For an easier way of life here’s a preventive way of loosing password. Create a password reset disk.

How To Create a Password Reset Disk

A password reset disk is a special disk you can insert in your PC during the logon process that will allow you to change your Windows password without knowing your current password. You will need to create this disk before you lose access to your account!

1. Ophcrack

Ophcrack

The Ophcrack Windows password cracker is by far the best free Windows password recovery tool available. It’s fast and easy enough for a first time Windows password cracker with a basic knowledge of Windows.

With Ophcrack, you don’t need any access to Windows to be able to recover your lost passwords. Simply visit the site, download the free ISO image, burn it to a CD and boot from the CD. The Ophcrack program starts, locates the Windows user accounts, and proceeds to recover (crack) the passwords – all automatically.

In a test on a Windows 7 PC, Ophcrack recovered the 10-character password to my administrator account in 40 seconds. Ophcrack supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.

2. PC Login Now

PC Login Now is one of the better free Windows password recovery programs I’ve tested… even though it doesn’t actually recover passwords.

Instead of discovering and displaying your current Windows password, PC Login Now deletes it, allowing you to access Windows without a password, after which you can create a new one.

PC Login Now works just like the free and popular Offline NT Password & Registry Editor only it’s much easier to use.

The trade-off with PC Login Now over Offline NT Password & Registry Editor is that PC Login Now causes Windows to detect a possible hard drive problem on the first reboot after deleting the password. Although test wise this is not proven yet but this is something to look and be careful with.

In a Windows Vista PC it can delete up to 15-character password as per test result. PC Login Now supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.

3.  Offline NT Password & Registry Editor

Offline NT Password & Registry Editor works differently than most password recovery programs in that it erases your Windows password instead of recovering it. You can think of it as more of a Windows password reset tool.

Like Ophcrack, you boot to a burned CD created with the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor ISO file.After running the program, you can log in to your Windows account without entering a password at all.

If you like this “password deleting” strategy then I highly recommend this program. Offline NT Password & Registry Editor works basically the same way as PC Login Now.

Recover/Reset and Change Administrator Password for Windows Operating System

I have my computer for 3 years after someone gave it to me. The whole system was been already installed and its ready to be used. Now after 3 years of using it i need to do some stuff that only the superuser administrator can do, even though my own username is an administrator type. Well i tried booting up using the administrator but i don’t know what the password is.  Luckily there are some methods that i can use to recover it. Here are some methods.

DISCLAIMER: Following information should be used only if its your system and you have forgotten account password. Don’t use this information to access a system which is not yours without permission.

1st Method:

This method includes the first thing which should do whenever you forget your Windows login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account “Administrator” and sets its password to blank. So if you forget your user account password then try this:

Start your computer and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press <ctrl>+<alt>+<del> keys twice and it’ll show Classic Login box.

Now type “Administrator” (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.

Now you can reset your account password from “Control Panel -> User Accounts“.

Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2nd Method:

If the above mentioned trick doesn’t work, try following trick which is actually a loophole in Windows XP Setup and also a big security hole:

A. Boot using Windows XP Setup CD and follow the instruction like Accepting EULA, etc.

B. When it asks to repair your existing Windows installation, accept it and press “R” to run the repair.

C. Setup will start repairing your Windows and will start copying files, etc.

D. After a few minutes setup will restart your system and when it restarts don’t press any key when it shows “Press any key to continue…” otherwise Setup will start from the beginning. Don’t press any key and setup will resume where it left.

E. Now it’ll start doing other tasks and will show a small progressbar with a few details in left side.

F. Look carefully at the details and when it shows “Installing devices“, press <Shift>+F10 keys in your keyboard.

G. It’ll open a Command Prompt window. Now type nusrmgr.cpl and press <Enter>.

H. It’ll open the same “User Accounts” window which you see in Control Panel.

I. Now you can remove or reset any account password without any problem.

3rd Method:

Windows XP and later Windows versions provide a built-in method to recover forgotten password by using “Password Reset Disk“. If you created a Password Reset Disk in past, you can use that disk to reset the password.

If you don’t know how to create a password reset disk, lets tell you in details. You can create the password reset disk using Control panel -> User Accounts applet.

First open Control Panel and click on User Accounts icon. It’ll open User Accounts window. Now click on your user account and then click on “Prevent a forgotten password” link given in left-side pane. It’ll open forgotten password wizard as shown in following screenshot:

Follow the instructions and you’ll have a password reset disk in your hand.

4th Method:

You can also use various bootable rescue CDs to reset your Windows password as mentioned in following link:

There are also a few 3rd party utilities available to help you recover your Windows password such as:

• UBCD for Windows
• Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD)

5th Method:

If all fails, then simply reinstall Windows and create new account. To recover lost data, you can use Data recovery tools available on net but the chances will be very low to get data back.

Prison Break (A TV series that blows my mind)

The past few days i was very busy watching the tv series Prison break. For some this might be a little backward but i am just too proud too share it. I saw the series on netflix and watched since then. Prison Break got my attention because the plot is so enticing and every episode is very mind blowing making you wonder what will happen next. This show gave life to the famous sentence “expect the unexpected”. This movie is truly a perfect example of TV made perfect. For series fanatics try watching this and you will never regret it. Season Synopsis:

Prison Break Season 1

Season 1 –The first season follows the rescue of Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), who is accused of murdering Terrence Steadman (John Billingsley), the brother of Vice President of the United States Caroline Reynolds (Patricia Wettig). Lincoln is sentenced to death and is incarcerated in Fox River State Penitentiary where he awaits his execution. Lincoln’s brother, brilliant structural engineer Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), is convinced of Lincoln’s innocence and formulates an escape plan. In order to gain access to Fox River, Michael commits an armed robbery which results in his being sentenced to Fox River. In prison, Michael befriends the prison doctor Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) when he pretends to suffer from Type 1 diabetes, in order to gain daily access to the prison’s infirmary. The brothers’ fight to ward off the execution is aided by their lifelong friend Veronica Donovan (Robin Tunney), who begins to investigate the conspiracy that put Lincoln in jail. However, they are hindered by covert agents, members of an organization known as The Company. The Company was responsible for framing Lincoln, and they did so because of Lincoln’s father, Aldo Burrows (Anthony Denison), and his former connections to the company. The brothers, along with six other inmates, Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell (Robert Knepper), Benjamin Miles “C-Note” Franklin (Rockmond Dunbar), David “Tweener” Apolskis (Lane Garrison), John Abruzzi (Peter Stormare), and Charles “Haywire” Patoshik (Silas Weir Mitchell), who come to be known as the Fox River Eight, escape in the season finale.

Prison Break Season 2

Season 2- The second season begins eight hours after the escape, focusing mainly on the eight escapees. Series creator Paul Scheuring describes the second season as “The Fugitive times eight” and likens it to the “second half of The Great Escape.”^[5] The fugitives split up and journey to locations across the country with the authorities close behind them as they each pursue their individual goals. Brad Bellick (Wade Williams) gets fired from the prison where he worked as the main guard and chases after the inmates himself for the reward money. Several of the escapees reunite in search of a large cache of money buried long ago by another Fox River inmate, Charles Westmoreland (Muse Watson). Federal agent Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) is assigned to track down and capture the eight fugitives, but is revealed to be working for The Company, which wants all eight men dead. When Sara discovers her father, Governor Frank Tancredi (John Heard), has been killed, she meets with Michael, remaining with him as the brothers try to bring down now-President Reynolds, a Company member. To ensure the brothers’ safety, Sara allows herself to be arrested and faces trial. During the trial, the testimony of former Secret Service agent Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein), who used to work for the Company-controlled President, exonerates Lincoln and Sara. Half of the escapees are killed or recaptured, but the brothers make it to Panama. Michael, T-Bag, Mahone, and Bellick are arrested by the Panamanian authorities and imprisoned at the Penitenciaría Federal de Sona.

Prison Break Season 3

Season 3 – The third season follows both Michael inside Sona and Lincoln on the outside in Panama. Sona is a prison that has been run by the inmates and guarded only from the outside due to a riot the year before. Burrows is quickly contacted by Gretchen Morgan (a Company operative who was in charge of operations in Panama) who kidnapped his son LJ (Marshall Allman) and Sara, the woman Michael loves. He is told that The Company wants Scofield to break James Whistler (Chris Vance) out of Sona. The season follows Michael and Whistler’s trials in formulating an escape plan, as Michael has to deal with extreme tension and as Lincoln deals with the Company’s operative Gretchen Morgan (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe). Sucre gets a job at the prison to aid Michael in his escape plan. When Lincoln attempts to rescue Sara and LJ following a clue provided by Sara, Gretchen claims to have beheaded Sara and sends Lincoln a head in a box as a warning. As the season ends, the pair manage to escape along with Mahone, and another inmate, Luis, leaving behind several accomplices including T-Bag and Bellick. Sucre’s identity is discovered by a prison guard and he is thrown into Sona just after the escape. LJ and Sofia (who was captured for a guarantee that Whistler would go with her) are traded for Whistler, and Michael seeks revenge against Gretchen for Sara’s death.

Prison Break Season 4

Season 4- The major storyline for the fourth season concerns a team recruited by Homeland Security agent Don Self (Michael Rapaport) to obtain Scylla. Although the team initially believes it to be the Company’s “black book”, it is later revealed to contain information on an advanced renewable power cell. Over the course of the first half of the season, the team obtains cards to access Scylla, and breaks into Company headquarters to steal it. In the first half, Sara is discovered to be alive, Bellick dies when he sacrifices himself, and Self is revealed to be a double agent and is planning to sell Scylla to the highest bidder. Reluctantly, Lincoln decides to join the Company to get it back, while Michael suffers from a hypothalamic hamartoma. He is treated and operated on by the Company. Michael later learns that his mother, Christina (Kathleen Quinlan) is still alive and was an agent of the Company, who is revealed to acquire Scylla to sell to the highest bidder. Eventually, the series’ main storyline of the past 4 seasons ends in Miami, where Scylla is recovered by Michael and the team, the General and the Company are taken down, and Sara kills Christina.

The last 2 episodes of the season represent the series finale and aired as the television movie Prison Break: The Final Break. In the movie, a story is told explaining what happened following the take down of the General and the Company and the strange scar on Sara’s shoulder. This story involves the incarceration of Sara in Miami-Dade county penitentiary due to budgetary cutbacks; there are cots installed there acting as the county jail. With Krantz and T-Bag in the adjacent Men’s facility, Krantz wants Sara dead and offers a $100,000 bounty. Michael hears of the bounty and devises plans for Sara’s escape. In the end, knowing that he is dying from a brain tumor, Michael sacrifices himself for his brother, wife and child.
